Reproduction, redistribution, or exploitation for personal or corporate gain is strictly prohibited by federal copyright law. Users are held fully responsible for any infringement of copyright held by the Camron-Stanford House Preservation Association (CSHPA) or other entities. Permission for all reproduction in printed and/or electronic formats must be obtained, in writing, from the Camron-Stanford House Preservation Association. In addition, like most museums, the CSHPA does not own the copyright to all objects in its collections. It is the user's responsibility to obtain required permissions and pay required fees for the use of copyrighted material. If the information is available and not restricted, CSHPA may provide users with contact information for specific copyright owners. Users are held fully responsible for any infringement of copyright.

Visual Rights and Reproductions

Guidelines and conditions for photography, film, and video at Camron-Stanford House.

For Personal Use

Photography of House interiors and/or house collections, produced electronically or otherwise, requires advance permission from Camron-Stanford House preservation Association. Requests must be submitted in writing and include information on how photographs will be used.

Photography of museum exteriors for personal use is permitted.

For Publication or Commercial Use

Camron-Stanford House and its collections may be photographed, by still or moving video photography, for commercial purposes only with the prior express authorization of Camron-Stanford House Preservation Association. Contractual arrangements must be made in advance of shooting with the Administrative Director. The Administrative Director will obtain appropriate permission from the President, Vice President, and/or the Board of Directors in advance for such commercial use. Restrictions may be imposed for the protection of collections, including requiring the presence of one or more members of the staff and/or board for the duration of the filming. For these users fees will be charged according to current schedules. If the photography is for publicity purposes the Board of Directors may waive the fee or fees.

Procedures for Requests of Existing Photographs

Written permission to publish or otherwise reproduce a Camron-Stanford House image must be obtained, in advance, from CSHPA. Please contact the Administrative Director for information regarding procedures, contracts, and fee structure.

Credit for Camron-Stanford House and Photographers

Written credit must be given to Camron-Stanford House and the photographer for images of the house, collections, or grounds reproduced electronically or otherwise. Contact CSHPA’s Administrative Director for detailed information and conditions regarding reproduction rights and proper credit requirements.

Privacy

Camron-Stanford House Preservation Association is concerned about your privacy. We request addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses to provide you with information about the House and related activities. Along this line, we do maintain a “shared” mailing list with four other members of the Oakland Historic House Museum Consortium for the purpose of providing you information about our five-house tours. We and the other members of the Consortium will protect your personal information and will never sell it to others.
